Water-resistant sunscreen: when to reapply
The water-resistant claim can be misread as “I don’t need to think about it anymore.” For Biomed sunscreen, the label pairs this claim with clear instructions: reapply frequently, especially after swimming and towel drying.

Read the claim alongside the instructions
Water resistance is not a promise of unlimited protection on the skin. When planning your sunscreen use, always follow the reapplication instructions on the packaging, not a duration inferred from the term water resistant. Do not apply a number of minutes found on another brand’s label to this product.
The Biomed packaging does not state a duration in minutes to use as a countdown. The key is to reapply frequently and after the specified activities.
Swimming and towel drying are two times to remember
Keep the bottle near your break items so that returning from the water becomes a natural time to check your routine. After drying off, reapply according to the instructions before going back out into the sun. Do not wait until the next swim to remember.
If you alternate between the pool, the shower, and your sun lounger, plan the full cycle. How fresh your skin feels after drying off does not indicate how much protection remains, nor does it replace the need to reapply.
The day continues even without swimming
Sweating and outdoor activities require attention to reapplication. The AAD generally recommends reapplication every two hours when outdoors, and also after swimming or sweating. This guidance complements the product’s specific instructions.
If you cannot stop to apply sunscreen properly, seek shade and review your plan. Do not use the water-resistant claim to indefinitely postpone a break or stay in the sun longer.
